About NGINX
NGINX, now a part of F5, Inc., is the company behind the popular open source project, NGINX. We offer a suite of technologies for developing and delivering modern applications. Together with F5, our combined solution bridges the gap between NetOps and DevOps, with multi‑cloud application services that span from code to customer.
NGINX do not currently offer a certification pathway for their course portoflio. They instead opt for a range of five courses, three of which are offered by Westcon-Comstor Academy.
All courses include labs with pre-configured training environments.
If you’re new to NGINX, NGINX Core is the place to start. If you’re self-taught or have some working experience with NGINX, NGINX Core will help you complete your understanding of NGINX. The rest of the NGINX courses can be taken in any order.
NGINX Core - NGINXCORE
NGINX Core is an 8-hour course that provides the foundation you need to administer, configure, and manage NGINX using best practices. Through lecture and hands-on activities, you’ll implement NGINX as a web server, load balancer, and reverse proxy.

NGINX Load Balancing - NGINXLOAD
NGINX Load Balancing is a 4-hour course that begins with a general review of load balancing. You’ll learn about load balancer configuration, selecting algorithms, and weighting. The follow- up activities include: configuring an upstream, session persistence, and enabling extended status / live activity monitoring.

NGINX Caching is a 4-hour course that provides a comprehensive view into how caching works, shows how to manage your cache, and teaches techniques for tuning your cache. The course starts with an intro to HTTP caching concepts.
It then applies these concepts in the context of NGINX acting as a reverse proxy and load balancer.

Securing Applications with NGINX Plus
Securing Applications with NGINX Plus is an 8-hour course for individuals who want a deep understanding of NGINX and NGINX Plus’s security features. You’ll explore SSL/TLS, access controls, secure API traffic, as well as blocking malicious traffic.

Introduction to NGINX App Protect
Introduction to NGINX App Protect is a 4-hour course that covers the NGINX App Protect WAF in depth. You’ll create a basic configuration of NGINX App Protect, review the default NGINX App Protect policy, and set up NGINX App Protect logging. You’ll then create and test policies, and troubleshoot common policy configuration issues. You’ll work with an NGINX- provided Kibana visualization of NGINX App Protect. Finally, you’ll perform a software update.
