Implementing Cisco IP Routing v2.0

Vendor: Cisco
Course Code: WGAC-CSC-ROUTE
Course Outline

ROUTE is one of three courses associated with tests required to earn the Cisco CCNP Routing and Switching certification. The ROUTE course builds on the routing skills that the student developed in the CCNA Routing and Switching curriculum. ROUTE teaches advanced routing topics a network administrator needs to know in order to implement and manage an enterprise network of a medium or large size enterprise. Through lectures and hands-on labs students will learn to dramatically increase the number of routers and branch locations in an organization without having to redesign the network when these additional sites are added.

Prerequisites & Audience

The knowledge and skills that a learner must have before attending this curriculum are as follows:

  • Describing network fundamentals
  • Establishing Internet and WAN connectivity (IPv4 and IPv6)
  • Managing network device security
  • Operating a medium-sized LAN with multiple switches, supporting VLANs, trunking, and spanning tree
  • Troubleshooting IP connectivity (IPv4 and IPv6)
  • Configuring and troubleshooting EIGRP and OSPF (IPv4 and IPv6)
  • Configuring devices for SNMP, syslog, and NetFlow access
  • Managing Cisco device configurations, Cisco IOS images, and licenses

It is highly recommended that this course be taken after the following Cisco courses:

  • "Interconnecting Cisco Network Devices Part 1, Version 2.0 (ICND1)" and "Interconnecting Cisco Network Devices Part 2, Version 2.0 (ICND2)" or
  • "Interconnecting Cisco Networking Devices: Accelerated v2.0 (CCNAX)"
Course Objectives
  • Describe routing protocols, different remote connectivity options, and their impact on routing and implementing RIPng
  • Configure EIGRP in IPv4 and IPv6 environments
  • Configure OSPF in IPv4 and IPv6 environments
  • Implement route redistribution using filtering mechanisms
  • Implement path control using policy-based routing and IP SLA
