Junos Routing Essentials (JRE)

Vendor: Juniper
Course Code: WGAC-JUN-JRE
Course Outline
This one-day CLASSROOM course provides students with foundational routing knowledge and configuration examples, and includes an overview of general routing concepts, routing policy, and firewall filters.

Through demonstrations and hands-on labs, students will gain experience in configuring and monitoring the Junos OS and monitoring basic device operations. This course uses Juniper Networks SRX Series Services Gateways for the hands-on component, but the lab environment does not preclude the course from being applicable to other Juniper hardware platforms running the Junos OS.
Prerequisites & Audience

Students should have basic networking knowledge and an understanding of the Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) reference model and the TCP/IP protocol suite. Students should also attend the Introduction to the Junos Operating System (WGAC-JUN-IJOS) course prior to attending this class.

On February 10, 2017, Juniper Education Services will begin transitioning to a new 3-day version of the Introduction to the Junos Operating System (IJOS) course.

The new version will include content from the current IJOS course, the Junos Routing Essentials (JRE) course, and additional material. See WGAC-JUN-IJOS-NEW for details.

After April 1, 2017, all classes will be the new 3-day IJOS course, outlined below. The IJOS and JRE 1-day courses will not be offered after April 1, 2017.
